Needling Facial Treatment

Needling on the surface of the skin greatly improves the texture of the skin and stimulates collagen. This procedure creates tiny channels in the skin's surface.
Nano~Needling is a non-invasive procedure that creates micro-channels in the skin using ultra-fine silicone tips. It does not have any down time and creates an instant glow and infusion of key ingredients of selected products. This service can be performed as early as once a week.
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure using fine needles to create shallow, controlled micro-injuries, which helps rejuvenate the skin by stimulating collagen and elastin production. It may help soften the appearance of acne scars, wrinkles, and textured skin and has minimal down time.
** If you currently have "peach fuzz" (Vellus hair) on your face, it is important to first have a Dermaplaning session, before you receive any initial essential Facial service or any Treatments such as HydroFacial, Microdermabrasion, Peels or Needling so that the product ingredients used can penetrate your skin better without being blocked by Vellus hair and dead skin.
Additional Notes . . .
Nano-needling can be utilized more often and is a great introduction to a needling procedure before advancing to Microneedling.
The type of needling procedure used will be determined depending on your skin at the time of service and your level of sensitivity.
I work with up to a 0.25mm level of depth. If you require a numbing agent to be applied on your face before Microneedling at this depth, then Nano-Needling would be a better choice for your skin. If you require deeper penetration into the skin to signficantly improve acne scarring, this level may not be suitable enough and would require booking with your Medical Aesthetician or Dermatologist.
Optional Treatment suggestions: Dermaplaning, HyrdoFacial, Microdermabrasion, Peel.

Preparing for your Needling appointment:

-
IF you wax any part of your face (facial waxing is Not recommended), make sure to wax at least 1–2 weeks before your appointment. Waxing can remove some of your skin's outermost cells and aggravate your skin.
-
7 days before your appointment, avoid other cosmetic treatments to prevent your skin from being susceptible to irritation and damage.
-
7 days before your appointment, avoid smoking and alcohol consumption so the treatment can be more effective and cause less down-time.
-
5–7 days before your appointment, avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, sauna and other sources of heat on your face.
-
3–5 days before your appointment, avoid exfoliating your face with exfoliating cleansers or scrubs including retinoid products (products with tretinoin, adapalene or tazarotene as active ingredients), glycolic and salicylic acid and physical scrubs including Ultrasonic brushes. (Needling is already an exfoliator. Exfoliating your face too much before your appointment can cause irritation).
-
Stop using retinoids, exfoliating acids, and Vitamin C serums 5–7 days prior to avoid irritation.
-
Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for 1–2 weeks before to minimize bruising.
-
If you have a history of cold sores or herpes, speak with your Dermatologist about taking an antiviral medication before and after your appointment as a preventative.
-
Reschedule your appointment if you come up with any open wounds, acne lesions or other conditions on your face until healed.
-
Arrive with a clean, makeup-free face, and hydrate well.

Keep your skin protected by wearing a minimum 30 SPF sunscreen and avoid the sun, tanning beds, heat, sweat, saunas and swimming for at least 48 hours.
-
Keep your skin hydrated by drinking plenty of water and keeping your skin moisturized.
-
Do not exfoliate your skin or use products on your skin that contain AHA's (alpha hydroxy acids), BHA's (beta hydroxy acids), glycolic, prescriptive skin care products, vitamin C, and retinol for 5 days after needling. These ingredients can irritate and inflame your skin.
